WHO ARE WE?

We are American Bulldog Breeders. We own ten adult dogs and we produced a lot of healthy puppies. We own Steel City American Bulldogs kennel established in 2003 to produce a better bulldog.

HOW DO WE TREAT OUR DOGS?

Our dogs are the part of our family so we treat them like we would want to be, in their place!

WHERE DO WE KEEP OUR DOGS?

Our adult dogs live in insulated kennels that are heated in the winter by a wood burning stove. Every dog has it's own room and a door to go outside into their own run. We have long runs that are filled out with river stone so there is no mud or standing water. We often take dogs inside the house, rotate them in turns so all of them get to spend some time with us at home and sleep on the couch. Puppies and mothers are always inside the house and we have a room specifically for them.

WHAT OUR DOGS EAT?

Our dogs eat human grade biologically appropriate raw meat and bones for their diet. They often eat eggs and milk. The dogs eat all parts of the chicken including giblets. They get beef marrow bones, and ground beef occasionally. We use herring fish oil and kelp as supplements as well as vitamin C and other vitamins if necessary.

Puppies are weaned on ground meat. If we notice that a pup needs extra feeding we use this formula: Bottle feeding formula for puppies:

1. 10 oz. of canned evaporated milk or goat’s milk (not pasteurized cow’s milk - this will cause scowers. Dogs cannot drink normal cow’s milk) Goats milk is by far the best to use.
2. 3 oz. sterilized water (baby water or boiled water) this is not needed if using goat’s milk
3. 1 raw egg yolk
4. 1 cup of whole yogurt (avoid skim or fat free if at all possible)
5. 1/2 Tsp Karo Syrup or Corn Syrup (NOT HONEY !!!!)


We do not trust commercial preparations and we recommend that new owners educate themselves about natural diets. The raw meat and bone diet is cheaper then most commercial diets, and it doesn't contain the preservatives and chemicals that commercial foods have. If you do not feel comfortable with feeding your pet raw meat, cooked meat is acceptable – just don’t give them cooked bones and they are prone to splintering and causing internal injuries. Dog food contains at least 6 deadly chemicals that have been banned from human foods because they cause:
· kidney cancer,
· bladder cancer,
· stomach cancer,
· leukaemia,
· liver dysfunction,
· severe allergic reactions,
· birth defects,
· blindness,
· chronic diarrhoea,
· hair loss
· behaviour problems, including increased aggression. This can be very dangerous if your dog is around children,
· immune system collapse
Commercial dog food may contain dead animals like cats and dogs - road kill or euthanaised animals, may contain up to 25% fecal waste and the deadly poison, Sodium Pentobarbital, which is used the kill the animals mentioned above by lethal injection. If you must feed commercial diet supplement natural food like dairy, extra meat and bones, eggs some vegetables and fruits that your dog likes.


SOCIALIZATION:

Our puppies are socialised from early age. We spend time with them They are also socialised with our two cats and the rest of the bulldogs and the german shephard.

VETERINARY CARE:

Our dogs are vaccinated and devormed regularly. They are under constant vet care. All puppies are examined by the vet before we hand them over to the new owner. We recommend that the new owner books the visit with his/her vet as soon as they get the puppy.We will exchange all the puppies if they are sick within 72 hours from purchase.
